About
A little more about me - I am a 2015 graduate of the University of South Carolina. I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Media Arts with a minor in Journalism. During my time in school I discovered a love for combining filmmaking and photography with community outreach as well as promoting and capturing local events.
Since graduation, I have actively sought out opportunities to advance my professional knowledge and experience with the goal of becoming a better, more engaging communicator.
My education provided me with the tools to create and communicate engaging creative pieces to my audience and understand the in’s and out’s of Adobe’s Creative Cloud, as well as a deep understanding of journalistic communication.
While working for the University of South Carolina Housing, I utilized analytics to fine tune content that would better suit our audience and drive engagement. I worked specifically on creating video and graphic pieces and relayed all social media analytics to a weekly meeting with the marketing team.
My career path after USC took me to my hometown of Lexington, SC. I worked at a marketing agency called Splash Omnimedia, first as a Content Coordinator, then later as Junior Client Manager and Marketing Director. I fit well into my new role, as I thrive in extremely multi-task-oriented environments. I was able to manage my time between both clients and advertising the agency itself to businesses and consumers. I developed strategies based on analytics and market research, worked with the web team on the creation and maintenance of websites, coordinated the training of my team and helped implement a new marketing automation system for clients and my agency, created custom HTML-based email templates, and managed social media accounts and blogs. I even occasionally worked on video and photo shoots as an additional camera operator or grip.
I am now working for Columbia Systems International of South Carolina, a manufacturer in Columbia, SC. I have worked here as the Director of Marketing for several months. Since I began, I have given the brand a new, more modern look, implemented the design and development of a new website, coordinated a complete marketing strategy, and designed new print materials.
